By work and salaries

That end up bought

By shareholders that share folders

On profit margins that aren’t so easily measured

Yet tethered to an individual’s ledger

A list unspoken but real

Makes promotions possible

Every move in life is a negotiation

Which means it’s all negotiable

No one gets what they deserve

One can only get what they have earned to deserve

Every life is different

Every failure, every success

It’s all how it is perceived

So don’t just do it

But rather do your absolute best
