Betty White

A woman has all of the contradictory standards to live within. A woman is the most emotional, yet we often forget the intelligence needed to be emotional combined with the unique need to control emotion that comes along with the pressure of unspoken standards. This is not to defend a position, but rather to bring contrast to a world that believes in what everyone’s saying, not doing. We as individuals must constantly look within ourselves to observe if:

1. We are observant of performance and the merit of result; or

2. If baselines are established in our minds by what is popularly considered to be more dominant in a particular instance.

It is important to establish this distinction to fully understand the depth of Betty White — not just the breadth of her fame.

There is an unspoken handbook of women’s standards set forth in society. These standards are not set by one man or woman, but rather via a pervasive ideology that promotes a minimalization of personality, thinking, and expression. These common standards and expectations put upon women are everything that Betty White is not. Judging by the expectations imposed on most women, her presence on this earth was a prototype of what many consider to be a horrible woman.
