The rate of return in this life can only be measured by not just your knowledge but what you understand of that knowledge. Without an understanding, that knowledge itself will not be able to be the superintendent of whatever you choose to construct. Without an understanding, one is bound to be a victim of the system. To avoid being a victim of the system, one must understand that the system does not inherently work for the people. That’s not to say that it can’t work for the people, but rather that it inherently works for itself and itself alone. Understanding this basic principle of systems and how they actually work versus what traditionally they’re “supposed to do” will allow a calm, cheerful manner in most interactions with it. Of course, there are unfair parts to any system, as systems typically reflect life. I will never claim to understand life as a whole or systems as a whole. My only claim is that I understand what they are not. Once one can understand, as well as comprehend, what is not, the full exploration of what is becomes possible.
