I am the perfect role model of imperfection.
I have and will never tell someone to make decisions based on what I feel is best. That is why — outside of encouragement — I’ve always used third parties as a source of independent judgment to qualify where I’m coming from.
I’ve never relied only on my knowledge or intelligence for anything I’ve ever done alone or with others.
It’s my belief that that is the reason why many individuals from diverse backgrounds have followed my every move. I’ve gone out of my way to ensure our relationships aren’t based on trust. Instead, they’re based on undeniable results that can only be refuted by the inexperienced and/or ignorant with a short-term thought process.
This precedent can be used as a measurement tool. It allows one to stand tall with healthy confidence and, equally, polite paranoia.
In my view, polite paranoia is the only way to stand with the confidence that can help, not hurt.
I’ve detailed this approach for others and, most of all, role-modeled it consistently from day one. I’m far from a perfect person, but I am a consistent one.
