I’m not going to hit someone where it hurts. I hit them where it helps.
There have been many times in my life that individuals with piranha-like behavior have attempted to distance me from my objectives in life, my pursuits, as well as my energy. In very specific instances, this attempted verbal distraction as well as presence has had to be dealt with by my inborn pragmatism and ability to diffuse. When these strong individuals, however, have not backed down, certain relationships have been lit on fire. This has been done by not only me burning the bridge but watching the bridge burn to ensure no further crossings as well as hitting where it helps. While in some cases it may have hurt at the moment, in the long run, it has always helped and made the trespasser second guess making those who cross their paths their emotional slave. I’ve never done this out of spite. Only measured and appropriately productive response. Hence, hitting them where it helps.
