Most Human Beings are Highly Processed
Most individuals anyone will meet in their lifetime — including family — are highly processed. It is important to understand that, just like highly processed food, most people are comprised of a lot of complex ingredients. This does not have anything to do with good or bad but rather preference in terms of choice. In my view informed by extensive experience with individuals around the world, it’s not about what you eat in terms of food but when you eat what you eat. I see people the same way. I know that every single person has meaning and a unique gift/purpose. It is most important when meeting/getting to know someone that the focus is on the unique gifts they bring to the world and not their flaws. It’s not about ignoring flaws in anyone but rather compartmentalizing them accordingly. Compartmentalizing and contextualizing a person’s flaws are most important. We all have flaws, so the context of what you disagree with in a person is the only distinction as we are all more alike than we are different in almost every regard. This is why the concept of “better than” doesn’t make much logical sense to me (although I accept the reality of what the world dictates). Do not let the highly processed nature of people take away from the fact that people will always need people. Therefore it is incumbent on every individual to work out their points of contention in any relationship by emphasizing the unique variables a person brings to the table and put into context the unhelpful, frustrating, and (in some cases) disturbing aspects of a person in the right compartment…empathy. Just like most of us will never be able to stay away from processed food, highly processed people come with the territory of being in the world of humans being who they are. People will always show who they are no matter how clever they are or think they are. In order to see who someone is, simply pay attention and observe with efficiency. Most will show you exactly who they are very quickly — especially those that think they are smarter than everyone else.
