The ones who understand how to understand recognize understanding as not just the key but the lock that prevents internal progress. To progress, one must understand fully and completely that no one is entitled to anything in this life no matter the level of nepotism or the lack thereof. The life of success is a crapshoot that crabs in a barrel are always waiting to take away once it is on the horizon. Therefore, knowing oneself is the true understanding that is needed above anything external. External understanding helps to attain success. Internal understanding directly maintains it.
