I sing and you sell songs so we’re stuck together.

Without me there’s no you. Do you remember?

’Cause the need for my dreams you hold and make me the beggar.

Build me up, so high up, and drop me whenever

you choose, but we lose when you sell ‘whatever’

you think is in for the moment. No honesty — just clever.

This business of music can lead to treasure.

Treasure, for better or worse, forever.

Lost nomenclature

record label dictator.

Trend maker, I am him.

Risk — take her out to lunch as we finish up.

Card declined now I’m in a rut.

My route, I found, it wasn’t clear though.

My friends think I am a weirdo.

Oh, weird for what? Doing big things?

Doing what I love, saying real things?

All these nouns. I am always learning.

Learning business ’cause I am yearning

to give you product that I’ve been earning.

I’ve earned this shhhh… be quiet.

No need to talk. I’m stylish.

I work for the industry, man, what’s up?

If you’re trying to get in with talent good luck.

You’re ffffff what? I can’t hear you.

That’s probably ’cause I don’t care, dude.

I’m just about the money and I’m your maker.

You’re the Titanic and I’m the glacier.

You may be great but I’ll find another.

The public won’t care ’cause you’re just a number.

Lottery pick, your art will suffer

…so suspect moves I make.

Anything you play I take.

Then I sell, I own your stake

of this company you made.

The juxtaposition is the real code.

So I’ll use this song as my ammo.

Shoot my ideas as this song flows.

That’s why I point out both sides of an ego.
