1. Approach all aspects of the day with flexibility.

Don’t get discouraged, distracted, and/or anxious with the fact that getting what you plan to get done will rarely happen. When it does, you will not feel as much relief as you did at the idea of getting it all done.

2. Working hard doesn’t have to be hard work.

Pick things in life that are hard enough to have a return on investment beyond the time and energy it takes to work on it in the moment. All hard work must return dividends of some kind. Everyone’s definition of return will be different, so focus on self in terms of defining what a return on investment is.

3. Consistent work doesn’t have to equal burnout.

One can do something consistently and intermittently all at once.

4. Learn to counterpoint with opposing ideas.

Opposing ideas can be appeasing if the dissonance between two different thoughts are composed relative to a clear focus above and beyond the subjectivity of the opposing views.

5. Take short breaks for self-reflection.

6. Be self-aware by listening to feedback without judgment but with curiosity.

Observation of what others think can be helpful in the context of not taking it personally, even when it’s personal. This can allow you to see beyond the self-imposed barriers of a created image of self and transcend into the curiosity of what can be seen by self.
