A clear direction on the building phase of any project: The key is not to have ego destroy the ability to be open to the fact that unnecessary delays in any project occur more because of a lack of internal management than anything or anyone externally.

Unforeseen delays happen in any project. The objective truth about building any business is that it’s only as good as the harmony of its people. Harmony in music, as in business, doesn’t mean everyone is the same but rather the complete opposite. The more different the notes are, the better the harmonies. Additionally, there needs to be dissonance in any strong team to have the independence of judgment not to be a victim of perception. In order to do this, one’s order must be clear and simple in its communication to all team members. It must be unreasonable in self-belief and consistently rhythmic in its delegation of instruction to set not only a standard in culture but a tempo that, in turn, creates a pulse in the culture that sets the highest standard.

A team doesn’t just need to be motivated but rather given space for self-motivation. The best music in the world has space. Space is the main measurement that creates the best tempos, feelings, and evocative observations of emotion. In the building phase of any project, everyone from the contractor and building…
